All Girls Summer Math Academy

The University of New Haven All Girls Math Camp is a one-week summer enrichment program in Mathematics and Coding for girls in entering grades 7- 10 that takes place during the last week of June (the application can be found here). Four successful programs took place since Summer 2015 where the most recent three programs were generously sponsored by MAA Tensor grant.

Camp activities:

  • Math and coding seminars and workshops
  • Group problem solving sessions and experiments
  • Math career panels and guest speaker discussions
  • Field trip to the New York math museum

    • Math & Coding topics discussed:

  • Number Theory, Coding and Cryptography, Graph Theory and Complex numbers (e.g: Fractals and Mandelbrot set).
  • Topics in Geometry and Scratch programming were included with the aim of increasing the digital literacy and mathematical fluency.
