Department LaTeX template, and some tools for doing research:
For students writing an Honors or Departmental Thesis or just wanting to
become familiar with using LaTeX, we've put together
some packages to help with writing these in LaTeX.
You can run LaTeX on your own computer (any platform, i.e., it is typically
installed on a Mac or Linux, and can be installed on Windows),
or it can be run in the cloud by creating
a ShareLaTeX
account (it is free), then upload any of the zip files into ShareLaTeX
to start using the template.
If you are interested in installing it, the
the LaTeX Project provides
a full range of resources.
- LaTeX Templates for research and presentation documents:
For the adventuresome wanting to use TrueType and other font sets along
with the standard Type I fonts, use these templates to run xelatex (not pdflatex).
Note that these are not recommended for research or other profession publications.
The Comic Neue fonts are available in Type 1, and so this template can be processed through
pdflatex.
- Templates for writing a XeLaTeX document:
- XeLateX zip Template showing how to integrate different fonts with math into XeLaTeX.
- Beamer xelatex zip template for writing a Beamer XeLaTeX document.
- Sample pdf file. Note this built on the same template as UNH Slides, but uses TrueType fonts.
- Beamer Comic Neue zip template for writing a Beamer pdflatex document.
- Sample pdf file, built on the same template as UNH Slides, but uses Comic Neue fonts.
- A professional CV, updated with options for user customization:
Note that ShareLaTeX and Overleaf have recently merged so that it is essentially the same product with a different interface. When using any of the templates shown above, please make sure to set your control file when there are several *.tex files to the *c.tex file in the unzipped folder. This is so that you can edit the other files yet still recompile the master control file.
You can set these using the Menu option in ShareLaTeX, select the
Main document as the one containing the *c.tex in its name.
